Can Babylon 8 be used on more than one machine?
- No, a license to Babylon is for use on a single workstation only.
Is it possible to upgrade to Babylon 8 from previous versions?
- It is possible to upgrade from Babylon 7 using an upgrade license. Upgrading from lower versions require a full Babylon 8 license.
Do I need the "Globe" to work with Babylon?
- No, the Babylon Globe is only there to assist you. You may shut it down by clicking the 'x' icon

You may also permanently eliminate this feature by selecting it in the menu bar

Are there any new content titles with Babylon 8?
- Yes, Babylon 8 comes with enhanced Babylon dictionaries. 23 new Wikipedia languages, covering 55 Wikipedia languages altogether. To see all free Babylon dictionaries and glossaries visit our website: http://www.babylon.com/gloss/glossaries.php.
Is it possible to translate a document?
- Babylon 8 enables the translation of any document from your PC. It's possible to select any of the common document types: MS Word, PDF, text file, RTF, and more) and have Babylon translate it to any language.
You can drag & drop or simply brows and select the document you wish to translate, Babylon will import the document content in a text format, once the text presented at the "Original text area" you may set your target language and click on the translate button.
Babylon will translate 512 characters each time you perform translation and will leave the remaining text gray out at the Original text area.
Fetching a document is done from the Babylon Text Translator screen, using the "Browse" button:

How does the IE speller work in Babylon 8?
- The IE speller feature allows you to get spelling suggestions while typing text in Internet Explorer. When you type in a text area you'll see Babylon Globe spinning from time to time.
When putting the mouse cursor on the Globe, the speller feature will be prompted

Once you click the spelling option, Babylon will color your misspelled word and offer you spelling alternatives for them:

What are the new features in Babylon 8?

How do I add languages?
- Adding a language with Babylon 8 is simple: You may either select a flag next to the Babylon term-field

Or, through the options menu, select the Languages & Dictionaries tab

How do I add dictionaries?
- Adding a dictionary can be done either by downloading and installing any Babylon dictionary (see above "Is it possible to work offline with Babylon?" ) or by adding a dictionary from within Babylon’s results

What is the Globe on the upper side of the screen?
- Babylon Globe is an on screen assistant, offering translation aid when you regularly work on your PC. When you select a single word, a text, or even a number Babylon globe will spin for a short while. If you choose to get assisted by Babylon simply move your mouse cursor and the Globe will offer you the relevant assistance. Also, when you visit a website in a foreign language, Babylon globe will spin and if you choose, a full web page translation will be offered. In addition, when you write a text in Internet Explorer, Babylon Globe will offer spelling corrections.
How can I translate a full web page?
- Translating a full web page may be done either by using Babylon Globe

Note that Babylon Globe will automatically offer you a web-page translation when you visit a website in a language that is foreign to you.
Where is the say-it function?
- The say it function is now shown per term in Babylon’s result area

How do I change my activation keys to Babylon?
- Mouse activation is set on installation by default to [ctrl key] + [Mouse Right-Click]. This activation combination may be changed through the configuration menu
