Is Babylon Freeware? What's the difference between Babylon and its free trial version?
- Babylon is not freeware, but trial ware.
Babylon's free trial version offers you full functionality for a limited time only. After the trial period expires you need to purchase Babylon otherwise the software cease to function.

What is my Babylon version?
- In order to check your Babylon application's version:
- Right-click the Babylon icon located at the taskbar (near the pc clock).
- Choose "Help" --> "About Babylon"

I purchased a license. How do I enter it into Babylon?
- Automatic license installation
If you selected the "install license on this computer" option during the purchase process, a cookie will automatically feed in your license into Babylon after Babylon restarts. For this process to succeed you must allow cookies in your web-browser.
Manual license installation
Manually enter your user name and license code, exactly as they appear in the confirmation letter you received from us.
It is recommended to copy & paste the details from the confirmation email in order to avoid mistakes.

I purchased an upgrade license. Do I need to reinstall my old Babylon version?
- No.
All you need is:
- Babylon setup file - Download from here.
- The old license details.
- The new upgrade license details.
During the installation, you will be asked to enter your licenses.
Enter the old license first, Babylon will ask you for additional license - Enter your new upgrade license, and proceed.

How do I check my license status?
- Your licenses and their status are listed in the configuration's Licenses tab. Right click the Babylon icon in your system tray, and choose Configuration, and then choose the Licenses tab. In this tab, you will see the licenses you currently have, and their status.

I was not asked to enter a license. Is my version licensed?
- Versions 6,7 & 8 Only
If during the purchase process you selected the "Automatically Install the license on this computer", a cookie was created, and the license you purchased was automatically fed into Babylon next time you launch the program.
All Users
You can check your license's status, by clicking the client's Options > Configuration > Licenses (In Babylon version 5 and below: Menu > Configuration > Licenses), highlighting the license in this tab, and clicking the More Details button.

I have purchased a new license, why am I receiving warnings and messages asking me to purchase?
- License Warning Regarding the Babylon Software:
You did not enter you username and license code. The license information appears in the purchase confirmation email. This email was sent from Babylon to the email that you specified during your purchase process.
- Right click on the Babylon icon (at the bottom of your screen, near the system clock).
- Choose "Enter License..."
- Enter the registration details EXACTLY as listed in the confirmation email you have received from us after the purchase. It is recommended to copy & paste the details from this email in order to avoid mistakes.
License Warning Regarding a Specific Dictionary Title:
Your trial period for the specified dictionary has expired. To keep viewing results from this dictionary you need to purchase a license and then enter it into your Babylon client.
Note that you have the option of having the license automatically installed during the purchase process.
If you do not wish to purchase the dictionary, remove it from your dictionary list, in order to stop receiving these warning messages.

An error message saying my code is incorrect appears when I try to enter my license details.
- Please make sure you enter your user name and license code EXACTLY as they appear in the purchase confirmation email that you received. It is recommended to copy & paste the details in order to avoid mistakes.

My license is about to expire soon or has recently expired. How do I renew it?
- To renew your license please visit Babylon's online store.
The Babylon online store offers you a selection of license options:
- An annual subscription to Babylon (valid for 12 months).
- A version based license to Babylon 8 - this license is not time limited and offers you access to all the updates that are available for Babylon 8.
- Babylon 8 with dictionaries from the world's premier publishers.
If you do not wish to purchase online you can contact one of our local resellers or distributors:
Private and home (up to 5 licenses) users click here and select "Offline" under "Payment Method".
Business Customer (6 licenses and up) click here.
Please note that after you purchase your new license you will need to enter your NEW license code into you Babylon, as described in the confirmation email you will receive after your purchase.

I have formatted my computer or bought a new computer. I know my username and license code, where can I download the latest version of Babylon?
- In order to enjoy Babylon on your new computer, all you have to do is download the installation file from here.
Please note: during the installation process you will be prompted to enter your registration details (username + license code).

I lost my confirmation letter. How do I install Babylon?
- In order for us to locate your details and resend them to you. Use the "Babylon license retrieval" web page.
I get an expiry message!
- I bought a license, and although it is valid Babylon shows me this message:

It appears that your setup file or the licenses you are currently using were not created by Babylon Ltd
Solution:
1. Uninstall Babylon: Exit Babylon, go to "My Computer --> Control Panel --> Add/Remove Programs", select 'Babylon' by clicking on it, and choose 'remove'.
2. Reinstall Babylon, and use the licenses you purchased from Babylon. Ltd
