Yam
Yam (ou Yaw, Yammu, Yamm) est le nom d'une divinité levantine du chaos et des mers déchaînées d’origine sémitique, telle que retrouvée dans les écrits de l'ancienne cité d’Ougarit. On l’oppose souvent à Baal, le dieu de l’Orage, dont le nom signifie « seigneur ». En ougaritique, Baal est parfois cité comme « roi des cieux », ou « premier fils d'El ». Il est possible qu’il ait un lien avec le dieu grec Kronos. D’après la mythologie levantine, Baal dirigeait les dieux depuis le Mont Tseéphon (en Syrie, aussi appelé Mont Sapan et Mont Casius), qui donne en araméen Zion.
