Xenon (IPA: ) is a chemical element that has the symbol Xe and atomic number 54. A colorless, heavy, odorless noble gas, xenon occurs in the earth's atmosphere in trace amounts. Although generally unreactive, xenon can undergo a few chemical reactions such as the formation of xenon hexafluoroplatinate, the first noble gas compound to be synthesized.

Xenon (von altgriechisch   „fremd“) ist ein chemisches Element im Periodensystem der Elemente mit dem Symbol Xe und der Ordnungszahl 54. Das farb- und geruchlose Gas gehört zu den chemisch extrem reaktionsträgen Edelgasen. Xenon ist beispielsweise für seinen Einsatz in Autoscheinwerfern und Ionenantrieben bekannt. Ksenon (Xe, łac. xenon) - pierwiastek chemiczny z grupy gazów szlachetnych w układzie okresowym. Nazwa pochodzi z gr. ksénos 'dziwny'. Został odkryty w 1898 r. przez W. Ramsaya i Morrisa Traversa jako pozostałość po frakcjonowanej destylacji skroplonego kryptonu.Ksenon w warunkach normalnych jest gazem bezbarwnym i bez zapachu. Ma cząsteczki jednoatomowe. Zaliczany jest do pierwiastków chemicznie biernych (wyjątek to cząsteczka XePtCl6), ale w specjalnych warunkach tworzy związki z fluorem i tlenem.Występuje w nich na parzystych dodatnich stopniach utlenienia. Są one silnymi utleniaczami.

Xenon è il nome commerciale della CPU usata nella Microsoft Xbox 360. Il processore Xenon è basato sulla tecnologia IBM PowerPC ed è formato da 3 core indipendenti. Ogni core include una cache di primo livello di 32 kB per le istruzioni e una cache L1 di 32 kB per i dati. I processori sono etichettati XCPU nel packaging.
