The term warhead refers to the explosive material and detonator that is delivered by a missile, rocket, or torpedo.

Warhead
Sprengkopf
Ein Sprengkopf (auch Gefechtskopf) ist derjenige Teil einer Explosionswaffe, der im Ziel die eigentliche Wirkung durch Explosion erreicht. Von Sprengköpfen spricht man aber nur bei komplexeren Waffen, die meist auch über einen eigenen Antrieb verfügen. Besteht die Waffe fast ausschließlich aus dem explosiven Teil, dann spricht man nicht von einem Sprengkopf. Beispiele hierfür sind Artillerie- und Handgranaten sowie Fliegerbomben, auch wenn diese teilweise über ein Lenksystem verfügen können.

Боеголовка
Боеголовка — обычно боевая часть баллистической ракеты, состоящая из корпуса, заряда (обычного, ядерного, специального) взрывателя с механизмом подрыва, иногда включает устройства наведения.
Различают моноблочные и разделяющиеся (многозарядные) боеголовки. На ракетах малой дальности и калибра используют моноблочные боеголовки с одним зарядом, чаще всего не отделяющиеся от корпуса ракеты.
На большинстве баллистических и некоторых крылатых ракетах моноблочные боеголовки отделяются от ракеты и наводятся на цель самостоятельно, что затрудняет их обнаружение и перехват.

Ojiva (arma)
Una ojiva, es la parte delantera del proyectil, cuya sección longitudinal tiene esa forma. También nombrada cabeza de guerra, bélica o de combate, forman parte de los proyectiles utilizados en conflictos militares, y se usan para destruir vehículos o edificios.
Usualmente, las ojivas son portadas en misiles, cohetes o torpedos. Contienen material explosivo y un detonador.
Los tipos de ojivas son:
- Explosivas: con una carga explosiva se usa para destruir el objetivo y producir daños en las zonas colindantes con la onda de choque.
- Convencional: con explosivos químicos, como la pólvora, originan gran cantidad de energía. Ésta energía se puede liberar rápidamente usando un disparador, tal como una chispa eléctrica. Las armas termobáricas son un caso especial.
- Nuclear: ver arma nuclear.
- Químicas: dispersan un gas tóxico, como el gas nervioso, y están diseñadas para matar seres humanos.
- Biológicas: portan un agente infeccioso, tal como el ántrax, están diseñadas para matar o enfermar seres humanos.
