Valka (niem. Walk) - miasto na Łotwie, liczący ok. 6,5 tys. mieszkańców ośrodek administracyjny okręgu Valka. Miasto położone jest przy granicy z Estonią, naprzeciwko estońskiego miasta Valga. Wałk (Walk) został pierwszy raz wspomniany w 1286 roku, prawa miejskie nadał miastu dopiero król Polski Stefan I w roku 1584.15 listopada 1918 Wałku podjęto decyzję o proklamacji niepodległości Łotwy. 1 lipca 1920 miasto podzielono pomiędzy Łotwę (obecne Valka) i Estonię (obecne Valga).
