Vitesse is a Dutch football club from Arnhem, which was founded on May 14, 1892. The idea of conceiving a football team stemmed from the club's early roots as a cricket club.Vitesse has had considerable success in the Eredivisie but it has never been considered a close competitor of the top three clubs of Netherlands football, namely PSV, Feyenoord, and Ajax. Yet Vitesse once attracted big name signings into its ranks including Roy Makaay, Marc van Hintum, Sander Westerveld, Victor Sikora, Pierre van Hooijdonk, Mahamadou Diarra and Philip Cocu.

Der Verein ist im deutschsprachigen Raum besser unter den eingedeutschten Vitesse Arnheim bekannt. Stichting Betaald Voetbal Vitesse, holenderski klub piłkarski z siedzibą w mieście Arnhem, założony 14 maja 1892 roku jako klub z przeważającą sekcją krykieta. W latach 80. klubowi groziło bankructwo, ponieważ kierował on zarówno sekcją zawodową jak i amatorską. Reforma prezesa Karela Aalbersa z 1984 roku nie tylko ocaliła Vitesse, ale uczyniła klub czwartą siłą Eredivisie, regularnie grającą w Puchrze UEFA. Na początku XXI wieku Vitesse przeżywało problemy z powodu oskarżeń o defraudacje podatkowe prezesa Aalbersa. W sezonie 2003/2004 klub bronił się nawet przed spadkiem. W sezonie 2004/2005 zajął 7. miejsce i nie zakwalifikował się do europejskich pucharów. W sezonie 2005/2006 zespół Vitesse występuje w rozgrywkach Eredivisie.

Lo Stichting Betaald Voetbal Vitesse, per brevità SBV Vitesse o anche solo Vitesse (in fr. Velocità), è un club calcistico olandese di Arnhem, attualmente militante nel campionato di vertice dei Paesi Bassi, la Eredivisie.Fu fondata il 14 maggio 1892 dopo la nascita del locale club di cricket. Gioca in completo a strisce giallo-nere. Nella prima divisione olandese vanta un secondo posto nella stagione 1997-1998, mentre si è classificata all'11° posto nella stagione 2005-2006, dal 1991 ad oggi ha partecipato a 9 edizioni della Coppa UEFA.
