Vinyl chloride
Vinyl chloride monomer (VCM), also known as chloroethene in IUPAC nomenclature, is an important industrial chemical chiefly used to produce its polymerpolyvinyl chloride (PVC). At room temperature, VCM is a toxic, colorless gas with a sickly sweet odor.
