Van Bronckhorst looks a skilful, playmaking midfielder with his club side Rangers FC but has operated at left-back for the Netherlands. A member of the Dutch squad at the 1998 FIFA World Cup, van Bronckhorst made his international debut against Brazil in 1996. He moved from Feyenoord to Rangers in the summer of 1998 and, under compatriot and former Netherlands coach Dick Advocaat, has won two Scottish championships with the Glasgow club.
