In geography, a vale is a wide river valley, usually with a particularly wide flood plain or flat valley bottom. Vales commonly occur between the escarpment slopes of pairs of chalk downs, where the chalk dome has been eroded, exposing less resistant underlying rock, usually clay.

Våle is a village in Re  municipality, and former municipality, in Vestfold county, Norway. Våle is a rural, agricultural area, with Kirkevoll/Brekkeåsen, Rånerudåsen, Svinevoll, Sørby and Gretteåsen as more dense housing areas. The administrative centre was Sørby.

Saliste ( or Selischte; ) is a town in Sibiu County in the centre of Romania, 21 km west of the county capital, Sibiu, the main locality in the Marginimea Sibiului area.
