V Day
  • V-Day is a term used during WWII prior to victory being achieved in Europe and Asia. The term was later replaced by the use of V-E Day (Victory in Europe Day) and V-J Day (Victory over Japan Day) after victory was achieved by the Allies in Europe. It may also refer to a specific calendar day in celebration of victory in different nations, including Victory Day (9 May) which is the formal date of the celebration by the USSR of the capitulation of Nazi Germany.
  • V-Day (movement) also refers to the global movement to end violence against women and girls
  • V-Day may also be used as shorthand for Valentine's Day in English-speaking countries.
