La traducción (del latín traductio, -onis: hacer pasar de un lugar a otro) es una actividad que consiste en comprender el significado de un texto en un idioma, llamado texto origen, para producir un texto con significado equivalente, en otro idioma, llamado texto traducido. El resultado de esta actividad, el texto traducido, también se denomina traducción.
