Towel
A towel is a piece of absorbent fabric or paper used for drying or wiping. It draws moisture through direct contact, often using a blotting or a rubbing motion. Common household textile towels are made from cotton, rayon, bamboo, nonwoven fibers or a few other materials.

Handtuch
Ein Handtuch ist ein Tuch zum Abtrocknen von Händen, Körper oder Gegenständen (z. B.: Geschirr). Für den Körper werden meist Frotteehandtücher verwendet, wegen der Saugfähigkeit meist aus Baumwolle. Am Arbeitsplatz und überall dort, wo zahlreiche Menschen verkehren, wird aus hygienischen Gründen die Verwendung von Einmalhandtüchern aus Papier empfohlen. Auch Tuchrollen mit automatischer Aufrollmechanik sind eine Alternative zum Gemeinschaftshandtuch.

Serviette de bain
Une serviette de bain (ou serviette de toilette, nommée essuie de bain en Belgique) est une pièce de tissu absorbant, généralement rectangulaire, que l'on utilise pour se sécher le corps, après un bain ou une douche, ou tout autre épisode où il peut être amené à être mouillé (piscine, etc.).

Handduk
En handduk är en textilvara (bortsett från pappershandduken som är tillverkad av pappersfibrer). Handduken är avsedd att torka bort fukt, främst från kroppen, händerna och från husgeråd. Det finns olika handdukar för olika ändamål.

Ręcznik – wyrób z materiału chłonącego wodę: tkaniny (trwały), lub papieru (jednorazowy).

Służy przede wszystkim do wycierania ludzkiego ciała po umyciu, czasem także do np. doraźnego okrycia. Istnieją duże ręczniki kąpielowe, najczęściej typu frotté, służące do wycierania całego ciała, ręczniki przeciętnej wielkości do ogólnego zastosowania oraz małe ręczniki do wycierania rąk.

Podstawowym materiałem, z którego produkowane są takie ręczniki, jest bawełna. Na rynku dostępne są też szybkoschnące ręczniki z tkanin syntetycznych. Ręczniki tekstylne, ze względu na swoją specyfikę użycia, należą do grupy wyrobów nieapreturowanych.
