In medicine, a tincture is an alcoholic extract (e.g. of a herb) or solution of a non-volatile substance (e.g. of iodine, mercurochrome). Solutions of volatile substances were called spirits, although that name was also given to several other materials obtained by distillation, even when they did not include alcohol. Nalewka (w farmakologii, łac. tinctura) - specjalna forma recepturowa leków. Etanolowo-wodny preparat, który otrzymuje się przez zalanie ziół rozpuszczalnikiem o przypisanym stężeniu i poddanie maceracji lub perkolacji przez określony, podany w odpowiednich monografiach farmakopealnych czas, odpowiedni dla danego surowca, z reguły wynosi on 7 dni. Po upływie tego czasu płyn filtruje się i odsącza. Nalewki stosowane są przeważnie jako surowce farmaceutyczne do przygotowywania preparatów leczniczych w zakresie receptury aptecznej. Także jako krople per se (czyli jako takie, w formie nieprzetworzonej) m.in w przypadkach zaburzeń trawienia, przeciw kaszlowi, a także na zewnątrz do przemywania ran i płukania gardła i in.

Een tinctuur is een alcoholische oplossing. Meestal wordt dan een oplossing van kruiden of harsen in ethanol bedoeld. Tincturen worden met name in de geneeskunde gebruikt, maar ook wel voor het bereiden van parfum.Een tinctuur bevat alleen stoffen uit de kruiden en harsen welke in alcohol oplossen.Voorbeelden van tincturen zijn:Jodiumtinctuur, een oplossing van jood in alcohol, werd vroeger veel als ontsmettend middel gebruikt. Een nadeel van jodiumtinctuur is dat alcohol gebruikt op een open wond erg pijnlijk kan zijn, vandaar dat tegenwoordig vaak ontsmet wordt met andere jodiumverbindingen die niet prikken.Goudsbloem tinctuur, is huidherstellend en wondsamentrekkend.Zonnehoed tinctuur, wordt als alternatief gezondheidsmiddel gebruikt. Het zou de weerstand van het menselijk lichaam verhogen.Salicylzuur tinctuur, wordt gebruikt om wratten te verwijderen.Benzoë tinctuur, een oplossing van Benzoë hars wordt gebruikt in sommige parfums.

チンキ（Tincture）とは、生薬（ハーブ）をエタノールあるいはエタノールと精製水の混合液に浸してつくる液状の製剤である。チンキ剤は生薬を小さく切り刻み、冷浸法またはパーコレーション法を用いてつくられる。チンキ剤はその製法故に多量のエタノールを含むことから、気密容器に入れ火気を避けて保存しなくてはならない。
