Telugu (తెలుగు) is a Dravidian language (South-Central Dravidian languages) primarily spoken in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh, where it is the official language. It is the Dravidian language with the largest number of speakers (including non-native speakers), the third most spoken language in India after Hindi and Bengali[1][2], and one of the twenty-two mentioned in the 8th Schedule of the Indian constitution national languages of the Republic of India. In addition, it is also spoken among a diaspora population in the USA, Malaysia, Mauritius, South Africa, Ireland, Fiji, Réunion, Trinidad and the UK among other countries around the world. Telugu is one of the most used languages in Carnatic music, the classical music of South India.

Introduction Le télougou (nom local : tĕlugu / తెలుగు) est une langue de l'Inde. Il est parlé dans l'État d'Andhra Pradesh, où il a le statut de langue officielle, ainsi qu'à Yanaon (Union territoriale de Pondichéry), dans l'arrière pays tamoul, à l'est du Karnataka, au Maharastra, en Orissa. Il existe une diaspora télougou en Birmanie, en Malaisie, à Maurice, en Arabie saoudite, dans les émirats du Golfe, en Afrique du Sud, aux îles Fidji, en Amérique du Nord et au Royaume-Uni et en France ; 70 millions de personnes le parlent comme première langue.
