Tarta (fr. tarte) - rodzaj wypieku, składającego się z kruchego ciasta i nadzienia, które może być zarówno słodkie (np. z owocami), jak i słone (np. z warzywami, grzybami). Tarta jest jedną z najpopularniejszych potraw kuchni francuskiej.Kruchym ciastem wylepia się dno i brzegi specjalnej formy do pieczenia tart - okrągłej i niskiej, o fałdowanych brzegach. Istnieją trzy metody pieczenia tarty:równocześnie surowego ciasta z wyłożonym na niego nadzieniem, najpierw samego ciasta, a potem już upieczone napełnia się nadzieniem,najpierw samego ciasta (często z wyłożoną suchą fasolą, która zapobiega rośnięciu ciasta), a dopiero pod koniec pieczenia wykłada się nadzienie.

Tærte, er et bagværk typisk bestående af en tærtebund af mørdej og et fyld. I modsætning til en pie har tærten ikke et dejlåg. Der er to hovedtyper: Madtærter og desserttærter.Madtærten består oftest af en bund, et fyld og en æggemasse. Bunden er en usødet mørdej. Fyldet kan bestå af grønsager, kød, fisk, fjerkræ, ost eller blandinger heraf. Æggemassen binder fyldet sammen og består typisk af æg, mælk og fløde/creme fraiche.
