Tabernacle
The Tabernacle (, mishkan, "residence" or "dwelling place"), according to the Hebrew Torah/Old Testament, was the portable dwelling place for the divine presence from the time of the Exodus from Egypt through the conquering of the land of Canaan. Built to specifications revealed by God (Yahweh) to Moses at Mount Sinai, it accompanied the Israelites on their wanderings in the wilderness and their conquest of the Promised Land. It contained the Ark of the Covenant which was eventually placed in the First Temple in Jerusalem. The First Temple in Jerusalem superseded it as the dwelling-place of God among the Israelites. There is no further mention of the Tabernacle after the destruction of Jerusalem and the Temple by the Babylonians in c. 587 BCE.

Przybytek Mojzeszowy
Przybytek Mojżeszowy (hebr. משכן Miszkan Przybytek) - przenośna świątynia starożytnych Izraelitów, zwana także Namiotem Spotkania/Zgromadzenia (hebr. ohel moed).
Przybytek został skonstruowany pod górą Synaj, na półwyspie Synaj przez Besaleela na polecenie Mojżesza (1444 p.n.e. w/g tradycyjnej chronologii biblijnej). Przełożonym przybytku był arcykapłan. Przybytek towarzyszył Izraelitom w ich wędrówce po pustyni i w podboju Kanaanu. W okresie sędziów Przybytek znajdował się w mieście Szilo. W epoce zjednoczonej monarchii był przenoszony z Szilo do Nob, a potem do Gibeonu, aby wreszcie zostać złożony w zbudowanej przez Salomona Świątyni Jerozolimskiej (959 p.n.e.). Według późnych przekazów źródłowych (II w. p.n.e.), po zburzeniu Jerozolimy przez Babilończyków w roku 586 p.n.e. prorok Jeremiasz ukrył Namiot Spotkania i Arkę Przymierza w grocie na Górze Nebo.
