人工合成元素
人工合成元素指自然界本来不存在的元素，通过人工方法製造出來的元素，稱為人工合成元素。一般透過將兩種元素以高速撞擊，增大自然存在的元素原子核质子的个数，达到增大原子序数，制造出新的元素。世界上第一個人工合成的化學元素是鎝(43 Tc)，它和其他的人工元素不同，大部分的人工元素的原子序號都在92 (U鈾) 以上，唯獨鎝獨樹一幟，位於穩定的過渡金屬之中。
