Swift
The swifts are a family, Apodidae, of highly aerial birds. They are superficially similar to swallows, but are actually not closely related to passerine species at all; swifts are in the separate order Apodiformes, which they share with hummingbirds. The treeswifts are closely related to the true swifts, but form a separate family, the Hemiprocnidae.

The Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication ("SWIFT") provides the network that enables financial institutions worldwide to send and receive information about financial transactions in a secure, standardised and reliable environment. SWIFT also markets software and services to financial institutions, much of it for use on the SWIFTNet Network, and ISO 9362 bank identifier codes (BICs) are popularly known as "SWIFT codes".

SWIFT
Die , abgekürzt S.W.I.F.T. oder meist nur SWIFT, ist eine 1973 gegründete, internationale Genossenschaft der Geldinstitute, die ein Telekommunikationsnetz (das SWIFT-Netz) für den Nachrichtenaustausch zwischen den Mitgliedern betreibt. Mittlerweile leitet SWIFT Transaktionen zwischen Banken, Brokerhäusern, Börsen und anderen Finanzinstituten mit einem Volumen von 6 Billionen Dollar (etwa 4,8 Billionen Euro; Stand November 2005) täglich weiter und wickelt den Nachrichtenverkehr von über 8000 Geldinstituten in mehr als 200 Ländern ab. Es werden durchschnittlich 15 Millionen SWIFT-Nachrichten pro Tag ausgetauscht. Das Netzwerk hatte im Jahr 2007 eine Verfügbarkeit von 99,997 Prozent. Der Sitz ist in La Hulpe, Belgien. In Zoeterwoude, Niederlande und in Culpeper (VA), USA befinden sich jeweils ein (OPC). Ein zusätzliches in Diessenhofen, Schweiz in Planung (siehe: http://www.thurgauerzeitung.ch/thurgau/untersee_und_rhein/Swift-plant-Datenzentrale-in-Diessenhofen/story/25414005), um eine dezentralisierte Nachrichtenarchitektur zu schaffen, die europäischen Datenschutzbedenken Rechnung trägt. In jedem Mitgliedstaat existieren Konzentratoren.

Die Segler (Apodidae) sind eine Vogelfamilie aus der Ordnung der Seglervögel (Apodiformes). Segler ähneln in Gestalt und Lebensweise den Schwalben, sind aber mit diesen nicht näher verwandt, es handelt sich dabei um konvergente Evolution.

La Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication (connue sous l'abréviation de SWIFT) est une société coopérative de droit belge, basée à La Hulpe près de Bruxelles, détenue et contrôlée par ses adhérents parmi lesquels se trouvent les plus grosses banques mondiales. Fondée en 1973, elle a ouvert un réseau opérationnel de même nom en 1977.

Jerzykowate
Jerzykowate (Apodidae) - rodzina ptaków z rzędu jerzykowych. Obejmuje ptaki małe lub średnie, o długich, ostro zakończonych skrzydłach i krótkich dziobach z szeroką paszczą, ułatwiających chwytanie owadów w locie. Jerzyki mają bardzo krótkie nogi z silnymi stopami i palcami skierowanymi do przodu, co ułatwia chwytanie się nawet pionowych powierzchni, natomiast praktycznie uniemożliwia chodzenie po ziemi. Ptaki te większość życia spędzają w powietrzu. Upierzenie zwykle czarne lub matowobrązowe z białymi akcentami.

SWIFT (bankowosc)
SWIFT (ang. Society for Worldwide Interbank Financial Telecommunication - Stowarzyszenie na Rzecz Światowej Międzybankowej Telekomunikacji Finansowej) – założone w 1973 roku międzynarodowe stowarzyszenie instytucji finansowych utrzymujące sieć telekomunikacyjną służącą do wymiany informacji.
SWIFT pośredniczy w transakcjach między bankami, domami maklerskimi, giełdami i innymi instytucjami finansowymi. Wykorzystywany system komputerowy oparty na sieci SWIFTNet Link (SNL) realizuje dziennie około 14 milionów operacji, głównie pomiędzy krajami europejskim (65% transakcji).
Stowarzyszenie zostało utworzone w Brukseli przez 239 banki z 15 krajów świata. Obecnie SWIFT zrzesza 8332 instytucje finansowe z 208 krajów. Siedziba stowarzyszenia znajduje się w La Hulpe w Belgii; w ogólnoświatowej sieci zatrudnionych jest łącznie 1890 pracowników. Prezesem zarządu od 1996 jest Yawar Shah.
