Swell
Swell is een Amerikaanse indieband die in 1989 gevormd werd in San Francisco door singer-songwriter David Freel en drummer/grafisch artiest Sean Kirkpatrick. De band creëerde vanaf de eerste albums een eigen, herkenbaar ambientgeluid.
De muziek van Swell is voorzien van invloeden uit punk, psychedelica, folk en filmscores. Daardoor moeilijk te catalogeren en/of te vergelijken met anderen.

Zeedeining
Zeedeining of gewoon deining, is een door wind gegenereerd golfpatroon. In tegenstelling tot zeegang wordt het niet langer gevoed door wind. Hoe verder van de oorsprong, hoe langer de periode en de golflengte, terwijl de hoogte langzaam afneemt. Voor zeedeining is er een schaal, die lijkt op de schaal van Schaal van Beaufort.

Swell
O termo swell (palavra em inglês para "ondulação oceânica") corresponde em português a palavra marulho, que porém é pouco conhecida dos surfistas que a conhecem como "Marola".
No mundo do surfe o swell é um aglomerado de ondas que transitam pelo oceano.O swell possue direção velocidade e tamanho diferenciados o que indica boas ou más condições para praticar o surf. Como o surfista depende das ondas do mar para praticar o surfe, está constantemente sondando a meteorologia para tentar descobrir os melhores dias para surfar. Quando o swell chega à praia dependendo das condições dele as ondas aumentam de tamanho e força, proporcionando boas condições para a prática do surfe.
