The SWARM Remote Weapon System (Stabilised Weapon And Reconnaissance Mount) is a fully armored remote weapon system designed and built by the Thales Group in Glasgow, Scotland. The SWARM system consists of two main assemblies: the Gun Processing and Interface Unit (GPIU), which is operated inside the vehicle, and the external Weapon and Sensor Platform (WASP). It can fire a variety of weapons, and utilize multiple sensors. On the US Marine Corps' Gladiator Tactical Unmanned Ground Vehicle (TUGV), equipped with a 7.62 mm M240 and day/night sensors.

Swarm behaviour, or swarming, is a collective behaviour exhibited by animals of similar size which aggregate together, perhaps milling about the same spot or perhaps moving en masse or migrating in some direction. As a term, swarming is applied particularly to insects, but can also be applied to any other animal that exhibits swarm behaviour. The term flocking is usually used to refer specifically to swarm behaviour in birds, herding to refer to swarm behaviour in quadrupeds, shoaling or schooling to refer to swarm behaviour in fish. Phytoplankton also gather in huge swarms called blooms, although these organisms are algae and are not self propelled the way animals are. By extension, the term swarm is applied also to inanimate entities which exhibit parallel behaviours, as in a robot swarm, an earthquake swarm, or a swarm of stars.

Swarm! is the second album by the Finnish death metal band Torture Killer, released on February 24, 2006. The album is the only album by Torture Killer to feature vocalist Chris Barnes.

Ein Schwarmfisch ist ein Fisch, der mit vielen anderen Fischen derselben Art, aber auch mit anderen Arten, zusammen umherschwimmt. Dabei schwimmen die einzelnen Fische weitgehend parallel zueinander, in etwa gleichem Abstand und in die gleiche Richtung. Schwarmfische können ganzjährig, saisonal oder nur bei Gelegenheit einen solchen Schwarm bilden. Schwarmverhalten ist auch von Vögeln, Sepien, Krill und vielen anderen Tieren bekannt. Entsprechenden Formationen der Säugetiere nennt man Herden.

Un essaim est un rassemblement en nombre important d'insectes de la même famille. Le phénomène dit de « nuées » ou « tempêtes d'insectes » n'a pas d'origine météorologique directe mais elles sont saisonnières et liées aux épisodes de sécheresse et pluies qui régulent l'offre en nourriture des insectes. Elles se produisent lorsque certaines populations d'insectes (par exemple des sauterelles ou des criquets) qui s'est massivement reproduite dans un lieu humide, initialement favorable à leur développement, ne parvient plus à subvenir à ses besoins alimentaires. De tels phénomènes se produisent plus rarement avec des coccinelles ou des mouches. Des nuages denses de certains papillons migrateurs pouvaient évoquer de tels phénomènes, donnant une impression de tempête de neige au passage des cols (par exemple dans les Pyrénées) ou dans certaines vallées en Europe, ou avec le monarque américain là où ses vols étaient particulièrement denses.

Svärm är en typ av flockbeteende där individerna i högre grad än i ett stim följer varandra, med högre hastighet och intensitet. Inuti svärmen tycks varje enskild individs rörelser vara kaosartade, men utifrån sett beskriver de en sammanhängande form. Flockens beteende som svärm är övergående. Främst används uttrycket om insekter, exempelvis om svärmande bin, men förekommer ibland i överförd betydelse om andra företeelser, exempelvis i datorsammanhang.
