A superhero (also known as a super hero) is fictional character "of unprecedented, physical prowess dedicated to acts of derring-do in the public interest.” Since the debut of the prototypal superhero Superman in 1938, stories of superheroes — ranging from brief episodic adventures to continuing years-long sagas — have dominated American comic books and crossed over into other media. A female superhero is sometimes called a superheroine or super heroine.

Superhero! is an upcoming spoof/comedy film satirizing a multitude of superhero films. In planning since at least September 2004, the film will be directed by Craig Mazin,  written by Craig Mazin and David Zucker, and produced by David Zucker and Robert K. Weiss. Like the team's previous films, it will be distributed by The Weinstein Company via its Dimension Films unit in the United States. The release date is currently set as March 28, 2008.
