Wikipedia English The Free EncyclopediaDownload this dictionary
SunBurn
SunBurn is an annual regional event held in Florida. Radical self-reliance and self-expression are the goals, and community is emphasized. SunBurn has its roots in the annual Burning Man  festival in Nevada. Art, music, fire and other forms of creativity -- including performance art, large-scale temporary constructions and alternative engineering -- are welcome. There is no vending on site (not even ice) -- gifting among participants is encouraged, but cash transactions are forbidden (the proceeds from the admission fee go entirely to cover event expenses). Come prepared to feed, hydrate, clothe and shelter yourself for the duration. SunBurn is a leave no trace event. As at Burning Man, all attendees are encouraged to participate in some way rather than being spectators to others' participation.

Sunburn
A sunburn is a burn to living tissue such as skin produced by overexposure to ultraviolet (UV) radiation, commonly from the sun's rays. Exposure of the skin to lesser amounts of UV will often produce a suntan. Usual mild symptoms in humans and animals are red or reddish skin that is hot to the touch, general fatigue, and mild dizziness. Sunburn can be life-threatening and is a leading cause of skin cancer. Sunburn can easily be prevented through the use of sunscreen, clothing (and hats), and by limiting solar exposure, especially during the middle of the day. The only cure for sunburn is slow healing, although skin creams can help.
