Sucrose
Sucrose (common name: table sugar, also called saccharose) is a disaccharide (glucose + fructose) with the molecular formula C12H22O11. Its systematic name is α-D-glucopyranosyl-(1→2)-β-D-fructofuranose. It is best known for its role in human nutrition and is formed by plants but not by other organisms.

Sacharoza
Sacharoza (inaczej cukroza, O-β-D-Fruf-(2→1)-α-D-Glcp, α-D-glukopiranozylo-(1, 2)-β-D-fruktofuranozyd) - węglowodan,  disacharyd (dawniej: dwusacharyd), złożony z fruktozy i glukozy, będący zasadniczym składnikiem cukru trzcinowego i cukru buraczanego. W temperaturze pokojowej sacharoza jest bezbarwnym, krystalicznym ciałem stałym. Jest nietoksyczna, ma słodki smak i bardzo dobrze rozpuszcza się w wodzie. Temperatura topnienia: 184 °C. Należy do cukrów nieredukujących, o czym świadczy negatywny wynik  próby Trommera. W kwaśnych warunkach hydrolizuje do fruktozy i glukozy wg schematu:

Saccarosio
Il saccarosio è il disaccaride chiamato comunemente "zucchero". Il saccarosio viene estratto nei paesi europei dalla barbabietola e nel resto del mondo dalla canna da zucchero; esso si trova anche nella maggior parte dei frutti e dei vegetali.Il legame interessa la funzione aldeidica (C-1) del glucosio e quella chetonica (C-2) del fruttosio: poiché entrambe le funzioni riducenti sono impegnate nel legame 1--->2 glicosidico, il saccarosio è uno zucchero non riducente.
