Strophe
A strophe forms the first part of the ode in Ancient Greek tragedy, followed by the antistrophe and epode. In its original Greek setting, "strophe, antistrophe and epode were a kind of stanza framed only for the music," as John Milton wrote in the preface to Samson Agonistes, with the strophe chanted by a Greek chorus as it moved from right to left across the scene.

Strophe
Eine Strophe (griechisch στροφή, „Wendung“, „Kurve“, „Drehung“, „Biegung“) ist ein Abschnitt eines lyrischen Textes. Ursprünglich (im griechischen Drama) bezeichnete Strophe den Wechsel der Bewegungsrichtung während eines Rundtanzes und den dabei vorgetragenen Gesang.

Strophe
Une strophe est un groupement organisé de vers pouvant comporter une disposition particulière de rimes. Les strophes sont séparées, dans un poème tel qu'édité actuellement, par une ligne blanche. Dans des éditions anciennes, l'existence de la strophe pouvait n'être repérable que par sa cohérence interne (ponctuation, disposition rimique, par exemple).

Strofa
Strofa (z łac. stropha, pot. zwrotka) – zestaw pewnej liczby wersów (wyodrębnionych w całość i oddzielonych przerwą graficzną od innej całości), który jest elementem wierszotwórczym. Strofa występuje tylko w utworze lirycznym, pełni istotną funkcję w rytmice i intonacji. S. mogą występować w wierszach każdego rodzaju: białym, wolnym, sylabicznym, tonicznym, sylabotonicznym, ale w wierszu wolnym mogą nie mieć charakteru regularnego. Ze względu na liczbę wersów, które wchodzą w skład strofy, dzielimy je na:
- Dystych – strofę budują tylko dwa wersy, najkrótsza z możliwych, pochodzi z antyku, popularna w poezji ludowej, układ rymów: aa
- Tercyna – strofa składająca się z 3 wersów
- Kwartyna – strofa składająca się z 4 wersów
- Pentastych – strofa składająca się z 5 wersów
- Sekstyna – strofa składająca się z 6 wersów, o układzie rymów: ababcc
- Septyna – strofa składająca się z 7 wersów
- Oktawa – strofa złożona z 8 wersów, najczęściej o układzie rymów abababcc

Strofe
De strofe komt uit het Grieks en betekent letterlijk omwenteling. Een strofe is een onderdeel van een gedicht en bevat doorgaans een zekere gedachteneenheid.
Het uiterlijke kenmerk van de strofe is dat er zich voor en na de strofe een witregel bevindt.
