SPRING is GIS and remote sensing image processing system with an object-oriented data model which provides for the integration of raster and vector data representations in a single environment. SPRING is freely available on the Internet. It has Windows and Linux versions.SPRING provides a comprehensive set of functions, including tools for Satellite Image Processing, Digital Terrain Modeling, Spatial Analysis, Geostatistics, Spatial Statistics, Spatial Databases and Map Management. SPRING is a product of Brazil's National Institute for Space Research(INPE), who is developing SPRING since 1992. SPRING has required over 200 man/years of development and includes extensive documentation, tutorials and examples. More than 70,000 users from 60 countries have downloaded the software, as of January 2007.

Der Frühling ist eine der vier Jahreszeiten der gemäßigten Zone. Auf den Frühling folgt der Sommer und ihm geht der Winter voran.Je nachdem, ob der Frühling auf der Südhalbkugel oder der Nordhalbkugel herrscht, unterscheidet man zwischen Nordfrühling und Südfrühling. Aufgrund des wandernden Zenitstandes der Sonne zwischen südlichem und nördlichem Wendekreis wiederholt sich der Frühling in jeder Hemisphäre mit einem jährlichen Turnus. Es ist daher auch möglich, aus einem Südfrühling einen Nordherbst zu folgern und umgekehrt.

Gli Spring sono uno dei più importanti gruppi del progressive inglese minore. Nati a Leicester nel 1970, si scioglieranno solo due anni più tardi (anche a causa del fallimento della casa discografica Neon). Il loro unico album è da considerarsi uno dei capolavori del cosiddetto rock romantico, un disco splendido per la sua raffinatezza sonora e per l'incredibile equilibrio fra melodia e arrangiamenti. Lo stile, a tratti, rimanda ai primi King Crimson romantici, ma anche ai Moody Blues. Dopo lo scioglimento quasi tutti i cinque artisti sono diventati famosi sessionman (Pick Withers è poi andato a far parte dei Dire Straits).
