1. En détection: dissociation d'un écho unique en plusieurs échos distincts correspondant chacun aux différents objets voisins. Ce phénomène dépend de plusieurs facteurs tels que: distance, ouverture du faisceau, réglage du gain, écarts respectifs et dimensions des objets. Aussi appelé "break-up". 2. En interprétation photographique: conséquence de l'agrandissement d'un original. Cet agrandissement a pour résultat une perte de définition de l'image d'origine, l'image résultante n'est plus alors qu'un ensemble aléatoire de tonalités différentes. 1/12/74
