The Solar System or solar system consists of the Sun and the other celestial objects gravitationally bound to it: the eight planets, their 166 known moons, three dwarf planets (Ceres, Pluto, and Eris and their four known moons), and billions of small bodies. This last category includes asteroids, Kuiper belt objects, comets, meteoroids, and interplanetary dust.

Il sistema solare è un sistema planetario costituito dai vari oggetti celesti mantenuti in orbita dalla forza di gravità attorno alla nostra stella, il Sole. È costituito dagli otto pianeti (e le loro 165 lune conosciute), dai tre pianeti nani (Cerere, Plutone, Eris e le loro quattro lune conosciute), qualche centinaia di migliaia di asteroidi, un numero imprecisato ma sicuramente enorme di comete e da miliardi di corpi minori.
