A software bug (or just "bug") is an error, flaw, mistake, failure, or fault in a computer program that prevents it from behaving as intended (e.g., producing an incorrect result). Most bugs arise from mistakes and errors made by people in either a program's source code or its design, and a few are caused by compilers producing incorrect code. A program that contains a large number of bugs, and/or bugs that seriously interfere with its functionality, is said to be buggy. Reports detailing bugs in a program are commonly known as bug reports, fault reports, problem reports, trouble reports, change requests, and so forth.

Un bogue informatique (de l'anglais bug, « insecte ») est une déficience dans un programme informatique l’empêchant de fonctionner correctement. Sa gravité peut aller de bénigne (défauts d’affichage mineurs) à majeure (explosion du vol 501 de la fusée Ariane 5). On ne qualifie de bogue qu'un problème confirmé du logiciel lui-même, l'anomalie logicielle désignant plus largement toute déficience perçue par un utilisateur.

Ein Programmfehler oder Softwarefehler, häufig auch im Deutschen mit dem englischen Wort Bug (Wanze, Käfer, Insekt; Aussprache []) bezeichnet, ist ein Ausdruck aus dem EDV-Bereich.Ein Bug tritt in Computerprogrammen auf, wenn der Programmierer einen bestimmten Zustand in der Programmlogik nicht berücksichtigt hat, oder wenn die Laufzeitumgebung an sich fehlerhaft arbeitet. Auch Unvollständigkeit, Fehler, Ungenauigkeiten, Mehrdeutigkeiten o. ä. in der  Spezifikation des Programms können zu Bugs führen, bzw. als solche interpretiert werden.

Błąd oprogramowania lub w żargonie informatycznym bug (czytaj bag) - wyrażenie oznaczające pewien błąd, usterkę, niepożądane, powtarzające się przy zajściu określonych czynników działanie programu, wynikające z błędu człowieka na jednym z etapów tworzenia oprogramowania. Zwykle na etapie projektowania lub tworzenia kodu źródłowego.

Nell'informatica il termine bug (in inglese "insetto") identifica un errore nella scrittura di un software, che causa un suo funzionamento errato o comunque diverso da quello che l'autore ha previsto ed in alcuni casi anche il suo blocco totale; meno comunemente, il termine bug può indicare un difetto di progettazione in un componente hardware che ne causa un comportamento imprevisto o comunque diverso da quello specificato dal produttore.
