small forward

The small forward, or, colloquially, the three, is one of the five positions in a regulation basketball game. Small forwards are typically somewhat shorter, quicker, and leaner than power forwards and centers, but on occasion are just as tall. The small forward position is considered to be perhaps the most versatile of the main five basketball positions, due to the nature of its role. Most current NBA small forwards are between 6'5" and 6'11" in height.

L'ailier ou ailier shooter (en anglais : Small forward) est l'un des cinq postes usuels au basket-ball. Les caractéristiques d'un ailier consistent en un compromis entre la taille et la puissances d'un intérieur ou d'un pivot, et l'agilité et la dextérité d'un meneur ou d'un arrière. C'est ce qui fait généralement des ailiers les joueurs les plus polyvalents, capables à la fois de tirer de loin et de jouer dans la raquette. Beaucoup d'ailiers sont aussi de bons défenseurs, c'est probablement le poste le plus défensif avec celui de pivot.

Small Forward (engl., zu deutsch „Flügelspieler“, wörtlich „kleiner Angriffspieler“) ist eine Positionsbezeichnung in der Sportart Basketball. Alternativ wird er auch als Wing Forward bezeichnet. Er ist Teil des Frontcourts, zu dem auch Power Forward und Center gehören. In der heutigen NBA ähnelt die Spielweise des Small Forwards aber mehr dem Shooting Guard.

L'ala piccola (in inglese small forward) è uno dei ruoli standard della pallacanestro.L'ala piccola è generalmente più bassa e piccola rispetto all'ala forte (power forward) ed al centro (center o pivot). In attacco, trova il suo equilibrio tra un gioco di forza ed il tiro. Tra tutti e cinque i ruoli standard, è, infatti, quello che riesce a combinare meglio i due aspetti del gioco, una via di mezzo (tant'è che non di rado alcune "ali piccole" sono in grado di giocare efficacemente nel ruolo di guardia tiratrice e viceversa). In difesa, invece, solitamente l'ala piccola dà il suo apporto con le palle rubate ed i rimbalzi.
