Sky
The sky, also known as the celestial dome, commonly refers to everything that lies a certain distance above the surface of Earth, including the atmosphere and the rest of outer space. In the field of astronomy, the sky is also called the celestial sphere. This is an imaginary dome where the sun, stars, planets, and the moon are seen to be traveling. The celestial sphere is divided into regions called constellations. Usually, the term sky is used from the point of view of the Earth's surface. However, the exact meaning of the term can vary; in some cases, the sky is defined as only the denser portions of the atmosphere, for example.

Sky+
Sky+, or Sky Plus, is a personal video recorder (PVR) service for Sky in the UK. Launched in September 2001, it allows the user to record, pause and instantly rewind live TV. The system performs these functions using an internal hard drive inside the Sky+ set top box. Its chief competitors in the UK market are the Freeview+, Freesat+, BT Vision, and Virgin Media's V+.

SKY
SKY è una piattaforma televisiva per la televisione digitale satellitare. La piattaforma è a pagamento, è destinata al mercato italiano, ed è offerta da SKY Italia.
Attualmente SKY è la piattaforma satellitare più diffusa e ricca di contenuti tra quelle destinate al mercato italiano e viene diffusa dalla famiglia di satelliti Hotbird posizionata a 13° est, i satelliti più utilizzati per diffondere le televisioni in lingua italiana in Italia.
La quasi totalità dei servizi televisivi di SKY sono disponibili anche nelle piattoforme televisive per la televisione digitale via cavo TVdiFASTWEB, Alice Home TV e Infostrada TV.

Sky+
Gli Sky+ sono decoder digitali satellitari ad elevate prestazioni utilizzati dalla compagnia inglese BSKYB. Offrono la possibilità di essere utilizzati in modalità PVR, permettendo la registrazione di fino a due trasmissioni televisive in contemporanea, in formato digitale.
In Italia il corrispondente apparato si chiama MySky.
