Shivering
Shivering (also called shuddering) is a bodily function in response to early hypothermia in warm-blooded animals. When the core body temperature drops, the shivering reflex is triggered to maintain homeostasis. Muscle groups around the vital organs begin to shake in small movements in an attempt to create warmth by expending energy. Shivering can also be a response to a fever, as a person may feel cold, though their core temperature is already elevated.

Zittern ist eine reflexartige Körperfunktion, die bei Säugetieren und Vögeln mit gleich bleibenden Körpertemperaturen auf eine (gefühlte) Kälteeinwirkung reagiert (Frieren) oder aufgrund starker Emotionen entsteht.

Shiver
Shiver to piosenka rockowej grupy Coldplay, pochodząca z jej debiutanckiego albumu, Parachutes. 6 marca 2000 roku została wydana jako singel promujące tę płytę. Tekst utworu sugeruje, że opowiada on o nie odwzajemnionej miłości.
Piosenka jest jedną z najstarszych w dorobku zespołu. W przeciwieństwie do pozostałych utworów z Parachutes, które zostały napisane pod koniec 2000 roku, "Shiver" była wykonywana przez Coldplay już podczas pierwszych koncertów grupy w 1999 roku.
Po siedmiu latach grania pioseki na koncertach, zespół zdecydował się w końcu usunąć ją z listy wykonywanych utworów. Stało się to w późniejszym etapie trasy A Rush of Blood to the Head Tour.

Dreszcze
Dreszcze - drobnofaliste drżenie ciała wywołane nieskoorodynowanymi skurczami mięśni, pojawiające się zwykle podczas szybkiego wzrostu ogólnej temperatury ciała do wysokich wartości. Do takiego stanu dochodzi najczęściej podczas ostrych chorób zakaźnych np. w przypadku malarii, duru plamistego lub powrotnego. Dreszcze pojawiają się także w ostrym odmiedniczkowym zapaleniu nerek czy zapaleniu płuc. Mogą również towarzyszyć uczuciu zimna.
