The Sea-Wolf is a novel written in Germany in 1904 by American author Jack London. Of it, Ambrose Bierce wrote: "the great thing—and it is among the greatest of things—is that tremendous creation, Wolf Larsen... the hewing out and setting up of such a figure is enough for a man to do in one lifetime." An immediate bestseller, the first printing of forty thousand copies was sold out before publication.

Die Seewölfe (Anarhichadidae), auch Steinbeißer, Karbonadenfisch, Wolfsfisch, Austernfisch oder Katfisch genannt, stellen eine innerhalb der der Barschartigen (Perciformes) dar. Es sind meeresbewohnende, am Grund lebende Fische, die eine Gesamtlänge von etwa 1,5 Meter erreichen können. Ihr Gewicht kann bis zu 24 kg betragen. Die Tiere kommen in 1 bis 500 m Tiefe auf meist felsigem Grund vor, wo sich zahlreiche Versteckmöglichkeiten für sie bieten. Verbreitungsgebiet sind die kalten Gewässer des Nordatlantik.

Missile SAM britannico di difesa antimissilistica di punto a corto raggio ed elevata velocità di reazione, completamente automatico, destinato all'impiego navale. Il Sea Wolf è un missile tuttora moderno, ma con ridotta gittata rispetto ad altri tipi come il Sea Sparrow. Ha avuto impiego con le fregate classe Type 22 e Type 23, e alle Flaklands ha ottenuto 4-5 vittorie aeree. Quando funzionava correttamente e si innescava era micidiale anche contro aerei a volo radente, malgrado non fosse stato progettato per quell'impiego. Inizialmente veniva lanciato da batterie multiple, ma poi si è passati a impianti di lancio verticali a tubi. La sua gittata è approssimativamente di 30 km ed equipaggia le fregate britanniche Type 22-23. Verrà sostituito, assieme al Sea Dart, dall'efficentissimo sistema PAAMS Aster, multifunzionale e con portata fino a 120 km, già armamento principale dei cacciatorpediniere type 45 che la Royal Navy ha in cantiere per sostituire i vecchi Type 42.

De Sea-Wolf is een Britse luchtdoelraket voor de korte afstand.De Sea Wolf werd in de jaren zestig en zeventig ontwikkeld ter vervanging van de Sea Cat voor de bescherming van schepen van de Royal Navy tegen vliegtuigen en zeedoelraketten.De Sea Wolf kwam voor het eerst in gebruik in 1980 aan boord van het fregat HMS Broadsword. De Sea Wolf maakt thans deel uit van de bewapening van de fregatten van het Type 22 en Type 23.
