Sclerotome
A sclerotome is part of a somite, a structure in vertebrate embryonic development. Sclerotomes eventually differentiate into the vertebrae and most of the skull. The caudal (inferior/lower) half of one sclerotome fuses with the rostral (superior/upper) half of the adjacent one to form each vertebra.

Le Sclérotome est issu de la subdivision (différenciation) du mésoderme régionalise des somites. Cette subdivision a lieu lors de l'organogénèse, on parle alors du devenir du mésoderme et plus particulièrement des somites en dermomyotome, myotome et sclérotome.
