Routine
Routine è il modo pratico e consueto di procedere nell'attività quotidiana.
Può anche avere connotazione negativa, come "monotona" ripetizione.

La parola viene dal francese route, strada, che deriva dal latino via rupta, cioè "via aperta", "strada battuta":
- nel 1442 è attestato in francese routier, colui che conosce bene la strada;
- nel 1559 in italiano il verbo rumpere (da dove il succitato "rupta") esprime la facoltà di acquisire conoscenza per mezzo della pratica e dell'esperienza, più che dallo studio.
