river Segre

The Segre is a river tributary to the Ebro (Ebre in Catalan) with a basin comprising territories across three states: France, Andorra and Spain. The river Segre, known to Romans as Sicoris, has its sources on the north face of the Pic del Segre ("Segre's Peak") in the French comarca of Alta Cerdanya in (Northern Catalonia). It follows an east-west direction all along the Cerdanya Valley (entering Spain at Puigcerdà) until La Seu d'Urgell, where it meets the Valira River coming from Andorra. From this point it adopts a south-western course across the pre-Pyrenees (with several dams along its gorges) and the western plains of Catalonia. It passes through Balaguer, Lleida and joins into the Ebro at Mequinenza.

Der Segre ist mit 265 km der längste Nebenfluss des Ebro. Er entspringt im südfranzösischen Pyrenäengebiet oberhalb der Gemeinde LLo und formt auf den ersten 10 km Lauflänge die Segreschlucht (Gorges du Segre). Nach der Exklave Llivia passiert er die spanische Grenze. Im Oberlauf münden viele kleinere Gebirgsbäche in den Segre, unter anderem der Valira (la Valira Gran), der über 90% des Territoriums von Andorra entwässert.

Segre, rzeka w płn.-wsch. Hiszpanii, największa rzeka Katalonii, dopływ Ebro. Źródło we Francji, w departamencie Pyrénées-Orientales (Langwedocja-Roussillon). Przepływa następnie przez hiszpańską enklawę w Llívia, po czym ostatecznie wpływa na terytorium hiszpańskie koło Puigcerdà. Przepływa przez La Seu d'Urgell, Balaguer i Lleidę. Uchodzi do Ebro koło Mequinensy, w zbiorniku Embalse de Riba-Roja. Długość – 265 km. Średni przepływ roczny niedaleko Lleidy – 100 m³/s. Główne dopływy: Cinca, Noguera Pallaresa, Noguera Ribagorçana, Valira (pr.), Llobregós (l.).

El Segre es un afluente del Ebro. Nace en la vertiente norte del Pico del Segre, en el municipio nortecatalán de Llo, Alta Cerdaña, Francia. Gira al oeste formando el valle de la Cerdaña y entrando en la Cataluña española. Pasa por Llivia, La Seo de Urgel, Ponts Balaguer y Lérida antes de unirse al Ebro en la localidad aragonesa de Mequinenza.
