Risk
Risk is the potential that a chosen action or activity (including the choice of inaction) will lead to a loss (an undesirable outcome). The notion implies that a choice having an influence on the outcome exists (or existed). Potential losses themselves may also be called "risks". Almost any human endeavor carries some risk, but some are much more risky than others.

Risiko
Der Begriff Risiko wird in verschiedenen wissenschaftlichen Disziplinen unterschiedlich definiert. Allen Disziplinen gemeinsam ist jedoch die Definition des Risikos als die Beschreibung eines Ereignisses mit der Möglichkeit negativer Auswirkungen. Andere Definitionen sehen bei riskobehafteten Handlungen auch die Möglichkeit einer positiven Auswirkung, die meistens als Chance bezeichnet wird. Ursächlich ist das Risiko mit einem Wagnis verbunden.

Risque
Le risque est une perte potentielle, identifiée et quantifiable (enjeux), inhérente à une situation ou une activité, associée à la probabilité de l’occurrence d’un événement ou d’une série d’événements. Il s’oppose à l’incertitude — non quantifiable — et au danger moins identifiable, encore moins quantifiable. Parallèle à la prise de décision, la gestion du risque consiste en l’évaluation et l’anticipation des risques, et à mettre en place un système de surveillance et de collecte systématique des données pour déclencher les alertes. La science qui étudie le risque est la cindynique.

Risk - dziewiąty album amerykańskiego zespołu thrash metalowego Megadeth, wydany w 1999 roku przez wytwórnię Capitol Records. Wzbudził wiele kontrowersji wśród fanów; uważany powszechnie za najsłabszy album grupy.

Ryzyko
Ryzyko w języku naturalnym oznacza jakąś miarę/ocenę zagrożenia czy niebezpieczeństwa wynikającego albo z prawdopodobnych zdarzeń od nas niezależnych, albo z możliwych konsekwencji podjęcia decyzji.
Najogolniej, ryzyko jest wskaźnikiem stanu lub zdarzenia które może prowadzić do strat. Jest ono proporcjonalne do prawdopodobienstwa wystąpienia tego zdarzenia i do wielkości strat ktore może spowodować.
Dlatego też, w języku potocznym mówimy w określonej sytuacji przed-decyzyjnej np. ja tu nic nie ryzykuję, mogę tylko skorzystać. Np. jesli znajdzemy los na loterie, to oczekując na wygraną nic nie ryzykujemy. Jeśli zaś go kupimy to wielkość ryzyka zależy tylko od tego ile za niego zapłaciliśmy. Tu, podejmując decyzję kupna losu przeprowadzamy tzw. bilans możliwych zysków i strat, uwzgledniamy ryzyko (straty), ale wielkość możliwej wygranej nie wpływa na jego objektywne oszacowanie (risk assessment), natomiast wpływa na decyzje [wg. A.M.Gadomski].
