Distinguish from reprisal. In music a reprise (IPA rəˈpriz) (pronounced rih-PREEZ; doesn't rhyme with "surprise") is the repetition or return of the opening material later in a composition such as occurs in the recapitulation of sonata form, though it originally (18th century) was simply any repeated section, such as is indicated by beginning and ending repeat signs. Reprise Records - wytwórnia założona w 1960 roku przez Franka Sinatrę, w celu zwiększenia wolności i niezależności w wydawaniu swoich nagrań. Inni członkowie tzw. Rat Pack, Dean Martin i Sammy Davis, Jr. także przenieśli się do tej wytwórni. Redd Foxx wydawał w niej swoje nagrania w czasach, kiedy nie była ona jeszcze tak znana. Reprise Records została sprzedana Warner Bros. Records na początku 1963. Dziś swoje płyty nagrywają w niej takie zespoły, jak Green Day, The Used, czy My Chemical Romance.

Tra i gruppi/cantanti che ne fanno parte, è bene ricordare Randy Newman, Ry Cooder, i Green Day, noto gruppo punk-rock e punk pop, Michael Bublé, Eric Clapton, i Depeche Mode, gruppo rock la cui formazione risale agli anni '80, e i My Chemical Romance, che hanno fatto da spalla in molti concerti agli stessi Green Day.
