reiter's syndrome

Reactive arthritis (ReA) is an autoimmune condition that develops in response to an infection in another part of your body. Coming into contact with bacteria and developing an infection can trigger reactive arthritis. Reactive arthritis has symptoms similar to arthritis or rheumatism. It is caused by another disease, and is thus "reactive", i.e., dependent on the other condition. The "trigger" infection is typically missing in the chronic case.

Le syndrome oculo-uréthro-synovial, encore appelé arthrite réactive, est une maladie systémique qui accompagne parfois la spondylarthrite ankylosante. Elle se caractérise par l'apparition simultanée defièvre ;diarrhée sanglante ;inflammation de l'urètre et des articulations, notamment difficulté d'uriner et douleurs articulaires ;conjonctivite (yeux rouges, avec démangeaisons).

Morbus Reiter oder Reiter-Krankheit ist eine reaktive entzündliche Systemerkrankung. Hierbei handelt es sich um eine seronegative Spondylarthropathie (Gelenkserkrankung), die besonders bei HLA-B27 positiven Personen durch eine Darm- oder Harnwegserkrankung mit Bakterien (meistens Chlamydien) ausgelöst wird und die sich als Arthritis, Bindehautentzündung des Auges, Urethritis und teils mit typischen Hautveränderungen äußern kann.

Síndrome de Reiter é uma doença reumática com tendência a cronicidade. Normalmente, causada por infecção por Clamidya ou Salmonella. Os sintomas mais freqüentes são: inflamação em várias articulações, principalmente a sacro-ilíaco e grandes articulações, conjuntivite e outras inflamações oftalmológicas e inflamações do sistema urinário. Conforme a severidade, é tratada com antiinflamatórios, imunossupressores (metratexate entre outros). A doença normalmente persiste após o fim da infecção. Atinge principalmente homens entre 20 e 40 anos.
