Redox
Redox (reduction-oxidation) reactions include all chemical reactions in which atoms have their oxidation state changed. This can be either a simple redox process, such as the oxidation of carbon to yield carbon dioxide or the reduction of carbon by hydrogen to yield methane (CH4), or a complex process such as the oxidation of glucose in the human body through a series of complex electron transfer processes.

Redoxreaktion
Eine Redoxreaktion (gesprochen: redóxreaktion; eigentlich: Reduktions-Oxidations-Reaktion) ist eine chemische Reaktion, bei der ein Reaktionspartner Elektronen auf den anderen überträgt. Bei einer solchen Elektronenübertragungs-Reaktion finden also eine Elektronenabgabe (Oxidation) durch einen Stoff sowie eine Elektronenaufnahme (Reduktion) statt. Redoxreaktionen sind von grundlegender Bedeutung in der Chemie: Viele Stoffwechsel- und Verbrennungsvorgänge, technische Produktionsprozesse und Nachweisreaktionen basieren auf solchen Elektronenübertragungs-Reaktionen.

Redox
Redox är det kemiska fenomen vid vilket oxidationstalen hos atomer förändras. Vanligtvis sker detta genom att en eller flera elektroner förflyttas från en atom till en annan.

Reakcja redoks
Reakcja redoks - to każda reakcja chemiczna, w której dochodzi zarówno do redukcji jak i utleniania.
W praktyce każda rzeczywista reakcja, w której następuje zmiana stopnia utlenienia atomów lub ich grup jest reakcją redoks, gdyż każdej reakcji redukcji musi towarzyszyć reakcja utlenienia i na odwrót.
Każdą reakcję redoks można rozpisać na pojedyncze akty utleniania i redukcji, które są nazywane reakcjami połówkowymi, przy czym bilans elektronowy i masowy tych aktów musi być zerowy. Takie rozpisanie reakcji redoks pomaga zrozumieć, co się właściwie dzieje w jej trakcie, warto jednak pamiętać, że pojedyncze akty redukcji i utleniania nie są opisem zjawisk, które rzeczywiście zachodzą w jej trakcie, lecz tylko teoretycznym zapisem zmian stopnia utlenienia poszczególnych atomów i grup.
