Il recupero dati (o data recovery), in informatica, consiste nel recupero di dati da supporti di memoria quando risultano danneggiati, corrotti o irraggiungibili.Spesso il salvataggio viene effettuato su hard disk, CD, DVD o supporti simili. I danni dei supporti possono essere di tipo strutturale, ad esempio un CD con la superficie rigata, oppure di tipo logico (a livello software), che provocano improvvisi arresti o indiponibilità del sistema.Nel campo delle indagini giudiziarie, il recovery consiste nel recupero di materiale precedentemente cancellato, su computer di persone sottoposte ad indagini.
