Rasp
A rasp is a tool used for shaping wood or other material. It consists of a point or the tip, then a long steel bar or the belly, then the heel or bottom, then the tang. The tang is joined to a handle, usually made of plastic or wood. The bar has sharp teeth. Rasps generally cut more coarsely than files.

Raspel
Mit der Raspel wird die grobe Bearbeitung von Vollholz durchgeführt. Die Raspelzähne (Hiebe) ragen aus dem Blatt. Sie reißen deshalb bei der Schnittbewegung Holzfasern aus dem Material und hinterlassen tiefe Spuren in der Oberfläche, die man z. B. mit der Feile glätten kann.

Tarnik
Tarnik (pot. raśpla, raszpla od niem. raspel) - narzędzie stolarskie, specjalny rodzaj pilnika z trójkątnymi zębami do obróbki drewna, rogów zwierzęcych i innych miękkich materiałów.
Różni się od pilnika charakterem obróbki materiału, tarnik usuwa większą ilość zbędnej materii kształtowanego przedmiotu niż pilnik z racji większych nacięć jakie posiada.

Rasp
Een rasp is een stuk gereedschap; het is een grofgetande vijl die wordt gebruikt om rondingen aan hout te maken.
Er zijn twee verschijningsvormen: een rasp met een handvat in de vorm van een steel, en een rasp in de vorm van een schaaf waarvan de bodem de rasp vormt.
Ook in de keuken worden raspen gebruikt om etenswaren fijner te verdelen, b.v. kaas, wortels of appel, of nootmuskaat.
