Race is a settlement in and the administrative centre of the municipality of Race-Fram in northeastern Slovenia. It lies under the eastern Pohorje hills on the edge of the plain on the right bank of the Drava River to the south of Maribor. The area is part of the traditional region of Lower Styria. The municipality is now included in the Drava statistical region.

En nomenclature zoologique, la race est un rang taxinomique inférieur à l'espèce (équivalent au rang de variété dans d'autres disciplines), dans le but de distinguer plus finement à l'intérieur des espèces animales domestiques, que la variation soit due à l'action de l'homme (par exemple la sélection par l'élevage) ou à la nature (évolution suite à un isolement géographique, par exemple une île).

La sigla RACE è l'abbreviazione di rapid amplification of cDNA ends (in italiano: amplificazione rapida delle estremità del cDNA) ed è una tecnica di biologia molecolare che serve ad estendere la porzione di sequenza nota di un RNA messaggero all'estremità 5' (5'-RACE) o 3' (3'-RACE). Le classiche tecniche di clonaggio del cDNA infatti spesso producono soltanto frammenti della sequenza, che possono essere estesi tramite le tecniche di RACE.
