Rabanadas are a traditional Portuguese dessert eaten at Christmas very popular in the North of Portugal as well as Brazil. They are made from white bread slices soaked in a liquid made with black tea or milk, sugar, cinamon, lemon peel and sometimes port wine, after they are drained and coated in egg and fried. While hot they are sprinkled with sugar and cinamon. Better consumed when cold. A lot of people just make Rabanadas to get rid of stale bread that's around the house.
