pylorus

The pylorus (from Greek πυλωρος = "gate guard") is the region of the stomach that connects to the duodenum. It is divided in two parts: the pyloric antrum, which connects to the body of the stomach.the pyloric canal, which connects to the duodenum. The pyloric sphincter, or valve, is a strong ring of smooth muscle at the end of the pyloric canal and lets food pass from the stomach to the duodenum. It receives sympathetic innveration from celiac ganglion.

Der Pylorus (lat., "Pförtner") ist die ringförmig angeordnete Glatte Muskulatur, die sich zwischen dem Antrum des Magens und dem Zwölffingerdarm (Duodenum) befindet.Der Pylorus ist in Ruhe geschlossen. Er hat die Aufgabe den Weitertransport des Nahrungsbreis vom Magen in den Darmtrakt zu regulieren.

Odźwiernik (łac. pylorus), część żołądka, mięśniowy pierścień łączący żołądek z dwunastnicą. Zgodnie ze swoją nazwą odźwiernik otwiera się okresowo w odpowiedzi na precyzyjną kontrolę poprzez układ nerwowy autonomiczny i układ hormonalny, przepuszczając porcje treści pokarmowej, do dalszego trawienia. Odźwiernik jest położony na wysokości 1. kręgu lędźwiowego (L1), nieco po prawej stronie kręgosłupa (u człowieka leżącego na plecach).

De maagportier (lat. pylorus) is de kringspier die zich aan de uitgang van de maag en het begin van de twaalfvingerige darm bevindt. Door af en toe even open te gaan regelt deze spier de hoeveelheid voedsel die wordt doorgelaten naar de darm. Bij jonge zuigelingen is deze functie wel eens verstoord, zie pylorushypertrofie
