Der Punk ist eine Jugendkultur, die Mitte der 1970er Jahre in New York und London entstand. Charakteristisch für den Punk sind provozierendes Aussehen, eine rebellische Haltung und nonkonformistisches Verhalten. Prägendes Motto für die Punk-Bewegung ende der 1970er Jahre war der Refrain eines Sex Pistols-Stücks: No Future.

Punk – w węższym znaczeniu: gatunek muzyczny w obrębie muzyki rockowej (punk rock) lub całokształt muzyki tworzonej przez grupy nawiązujące do ideologii ruchu punk; w szerszym: kontrkultura młodzieżowa czy wręcz kultura alternatywna / ruch kulturowo-społeczno-polityczny, zapoczątkowany w połowie lat 70. XX w., w różnych swoich przejawach istniejący do dziś. Także nazwa, również w złożeniach, stylów w sztuce, literaturze, muzyce, modzie itp. oraz innych przejawów ludzkiej aktywności odwołujących się do pierwotnego znaczenia pojęcia.
