Designated airspace within which the flight of aircraft is prohibited. (FAA8)

1. An airspace of defined dimensions, above the land area or territorial waters of a state, within which the flight of aircraft is prohibited. 2. An area shown on charts within which navigation and/or anchoring is prohibited except as authorized by appropriate authority. See also closed area; danger area; restricted area. 1/6/81
