Ein Präfix (neutr., aus lat. prä, „vor“, fix, „fest“; dt. „Vorsilbe“) ist ein Affix, das vorne an den Wortstamm angehängt wird. Das Anfügen von Präfixen (Präfigierung) ist eine Methode zur morphologischen Wortbildung. Oft ändert eine Präfigierung die Wortbedeutung. Es gibt produktive und nicht mehr produktive Präfixe. Mit produktiven Präfixen kann man neue Wörter bilden. Nicht mehr produktive Präfixe sind teilweise kaum noch als solche zu erkennen. Im Gegensatz zum Präfix steht das Suffix.

Obecnie dzwoniąc do kogoś w tej samej strefie, również należy wykręcić tzw. kierunkowy.

Een voorvoegsel of (Romaans) prefix is een affix dat voor het grondwoord wordt geplaatst. Een prefix is een gebonden morfeem, wat inhoudt dat het doorgaans niet als afzonderlijk woord voorkomt.Het vooraf laten gaan van een morfeem door een prefix heet prefigering. Dit wordt bestudeerd binnen de morfologie.Prefixen komen in zeer veel natuurlijke talen voor. Voorbeelden van Nederlandse prefixen zijn her- in herhalen, herinneren, herkennen en ver- in verkijken, verzwikken en vergaan.
