Das Pfund ist eine alte Maßeinheit für die Masse. Der Name leitet sich vom lateinischen pondus (Gewicht) ab. Die Gewichtseinheit wurde auch zum Wiegen von Edelmetall genutzt und wurde so zur Währungseinheit.

Funt, jednostka masy wywodząca się od rzymskiej libry. Nazwa waluty w wielu krajach, np. funt brytyjski.

Jako jednostka masy:

  • funt brytyjski ("avoirdupois", powszechnie używany np. w USA), pound: 1 lb = 0,453592 kg = 16 oz (uncji)
  • W średniowieczu:
    • funt karoliński = ok. 409, 31 g czyli 1,25 funta rzymskiego
    • funt paryski = 489,5058 g (teoretycznie miało to być 1,5 funta rzymskiego)
  • W Królestwie Polskim:
    • funt nowopolski = 0,405504 kg
