The positron is the antiparticle or the antimatter counterpart of the electron. The positron has an electric charge of +1, a spin of 1/2, and the same mass as an electron. When a low-energy positron collides with a low-energy electron,  annihilation occurs, resulting in the production of two gamma ray photons (see electron-positron annihilation). The first scientist deemed to have captured positrons through electron-positron annihilation was Chung-Yao Chao, a graduate student at Caltech in 1930, though he did not realize what they were at that time.

Positron! Records is an independent record label based in Chicago, Illinois founded in 1998 by Chris Randall, who is known for being the lead singer/musician for the industrial band Sister Machine Gun. Positron! Records describes itself as an "anti-label" because they release only a handful of albums and give as much support to each release as they can. The label also features a "Creative Commons license" for some of its albums, allowing individuals to uploads those songs to peer-to-peer websites as well as sample parts of those songs for private or commercial usage.

Positron PPS (Positive Pre-Select) System - technologia sterowania tylną przerzutką firmy Shimano a zarazem niepełna grupa osprzętu. Positron był pierwszą próbą indeksacji biegów podjętą przez japońskiego producenta. Mechanizm zapadkowy został wbudowany w przerzutkę i składał się z wycinka koła zębatego oraz kulki przyciskanej do niego sprężyną. Dzięki temu wózek przerzutki nie przesuwał się płynnie w poziomie, lecz skokowo, w założeniu tak, by górne kółko znajdowało się dokładnie pod zębatką wielotrybu. Pantograf przerzutki nie był wyposażony w sprężynę powrotną. Manetka pracowała w standardowym trybie ciernym (płynnie).

Pozyton, pozytron, antyelektron –  elementarna cząstka antymaterii oznaczana symbolem e+, będąca antycząstką elektronu – należy do grupy  leptonów. Jej ładunek elektryczny jest równy +1 (jednostce ładunku elementarnego), masa jest równa masie elektronu. Spin pozytonu jest połówkowy. Podczas anihilacji elektronu z pozytonem powstają dwa kwanty gamma o energiach odpowiadających masom spoczynkowym elektronu i pozytonu - 511 keV.

Il positrone (detto anche antielettrone) è l'equivalente di antimateria dell'elettrone. Ha carica elettrica pari a +1, e spin di 1/2, e la stessa massa dell'elettrone. Quando un positrone si annichila con un elettrone, la loro massa viene convertita in energia, sotto forma di due fotoni ad altissima energia nella banda dei raggi gamma.
